  • Women’s health care covers a comprehensive range of services aimed at supporting reproductive health, hormonal balance, and overall wellness throughout every stage of life. This can include routine wellness exams, gynecologic evaluations, pregnancy and fertility-related care, and preventive screenings that help identify health concerns early.

  • Most women benefit from an annual well-woman exam. This visit typically includes a general health check, breast exam, pelvic exam, and discussions about menstrual health, contraception, lifestyle concerns, and preventive screenings. Your provider may recommend more frequent visits depending on your medical history.

  • Most guidelines recommend beginning routine mammograms around age 40–45, although recommendations vary based on personal and family history. Women with higher risk, such as those with a strong family history of breast cancer or known genetic factors, may need screening earlier and more frequently.

  • Pap smears are usually recommended every three years for women ages 21–29, and every three to five years for women 30–65 depending on whether HPV testing is included. Your provider may adjust this schedule if you have a history of abnormal results or certain risk factors.

  • Women should seek care if they experience unusual pelvic pain, changes in menstrual cycles, abnormal vaginal bleeding, breast changes, pain during intercourse, persistent bloating, or symptoms of infection. These can indicate issues that need timely evaluation, such as fibroids, infections, ovarian concerns, or hormonal imbalances.
